Mixtape features a collection of 1980s hits, performed by Toronto mainstays, Retrocity. Aaron wrote two of the vocal arrangements, and is featured on two tracks: Pink Floyd’s Money (reimagined in 9/8 time), and Hall and Oates’ I Can’t Go For That.
Aaron was enlisted to create a vocal arrangement for “A Text to God” for Heather Rankin’s album, Imagine. He also contributed vocals to the track, and sourced a choir of session singers. Heather is a six-time JUNO award-winner, and is celebrated both as a soloist and as a member of The Rankin Family.
Aaron produced, and wrote all arrangements/compositions for Countermeasure’s second album Made to Measure. The album received several awards and nominations including Best Album (CAL), and Best Original Song – CARA Awards, Best Pop Album Nomination – Toronto Independent Music Awards, Best A Cappella Song – Independent Music Awards.
Aaron recorded two albums as a member of the JUNO-nominated group, Cadence (Speak Easy, and Cool Yule) earning him recognition for his arrangements and compositions (Grand Prize Best Jazz Song – John Lennon Songwriting Competition, Best Jazz Arrangement, Best Original Song, Best Holiday Song – CARA Awards). Aaron is a member of the totally rad 1980s tribute a cappella group, Retrocity. The group has toured across Canada and to the U.K. and has performed alongside Canadian 80s mainstays including Alan Frew (Glass Tiger), Lorraine Segato, and Martha Johnson.
Aaron has written commissioned vocal charts for the JUNO-nominated singer, Mark Masri.
